THE STORY

My name is Diana. I’m a passionate scientist who loves cooking and combining foods as a form of art and therapy. I’ve always been fascinated by how the human body works and for the past 11 years, I’ve grown my scientific knowledge, completing a degree in Biomedical Science and a PhD in Neuroscience Research. I’ve also worked within the Pharmaceutical Industry and have a great experience in scientific communication.

I believe in a holistic approach to our health. I also think that medicine should not be limited just to treating diseases but should proactively encourage a healthy lifestyle. Therefore, I would like to help you achieve a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle without tiring dieting or counting calories, but simply by discovering the science on your plate.

Science on a plate will aim to educate people transforming complex scientific facts into practical recipes that are both delicious and nutritious. Valuable information from clinical studies will be shared in the hope to help you rewire your mind to healthy habits.

Most of us live a comfortable lifestyle but with less and less healthy habits.  Things like rushing through the morning, midday snacks, fast-food dinners and night time drinks are habits we do without thinking. Sometimes, we don’t even notice we’re doing them but we do notice their impacts. We may start feeling less energetic or motivated, we may find that some of our clothes don’t fit us anymore or it may take us longer to fall asleep at night.

At the same time, we are bombarded with phrases like: ‘eat less processed food’, ‘eat less sugar’, ‘eat more vegetables and fruits’, but we often fail to put this in practice. How many times have you tried promising but fad and restrictive diets that proved to be long-term inefficient?

Many scientific studies have demonstrated that healthy eating, as part of a healthy lifestyle, can prevent or help lower people’s risk of getting chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, high-blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and even mental illnesses. With an alarming increase in the numbers of people with obesity or chronic illnesses following the Western diet, there is an urgent need for both people and environment to replace heavily processed food with whole foods as soon as possible in order to prevent, arrest and reverse our leading killers.

This is why Science on a plate wants to offer you the perfect nutrition plan built on science rather than the exhausting calorie-counting diets. It also provides guidance for quick and tasty recipes, carefully selected for your body needs and well suited for your daily activities, so that you can fully benefit now and later.
